Tomorrow is the Full Moon in Capricorn where the Sun in Cancer will be opposite the Moon in Capricorn at 17°09′. Intensified by Pluto sitting next to the Moon at 18°11′ in Capricorn. When you commit to working with the energies of the Moon cycles you’ll find that themes relevant to the energies at play will rise to the surface to be eliminated, transformed and integrated so that you can become more self-aware, proactive and empowered. Working the Moon and other planetary phases then becomes a consciousness accelerator.

So this Full Moon energy is about Cardinal (Initiating) Earth (Capricorn) and Cardinal Water (Cancer). The qualities and traits of both of these signs are essential to being able to plan, create, build – and follow through to get the job done. Capricorn is the ultimate Builder / CEO / Boss energy and Cancer is highly creative, planful and just as determined as the Mountain Goat to succeed. Both signs / energies are great at making things HAPPEN.

It’s about harnessing Cardinal Earth and Water and eliminating the shadow negative and cynical traits that come with the Capricorn and Cancer polarities.

There’s also Pluto conjunct the Full Moon to consider. Pluto’s often referred to as the garbage collector of the Universe. Because Pluto forces us to face and address the crap and unessential stuff we’re holding onto that’s hindering our progress and personal evolution. So Pluto is the potential intensifier and ally this Full Moon to help you release habits, beliefs or triggers that don’t serve you anymore.

There’s always useful clues leading up to the Full Moon around the higher and lower expressions of the two opposite energies in the zodiac involved and how they may be playing out in your life. It’s about consciously choosing to release the lower expressions of these energies and looking at how you can leverage the higher expressions of same to your advantage and growth.

The Full Moon in Capricorn is about earth energy and the shadow side of this. It’s an opportunity to realistically assess whether you’re on track and taking consistent daily action towards your goals, or wasting time and energy on things that don’t count. Putting in the hard work required to build structures and things that last and have meaning and value. Walking your talk. Making sure your environment is supporting your goals. Seeing the value in step-by-step systems and processes that actually yield more long-term, tangible results.

Full Moon in Capricorn / Sun in Cancer Themes:

Is your work and home environment conducive to staying focused, on-track and consistent with your daily actions and goals? If not, put in some energy to declutter and shape your environment so that it supports you. You can’t build and create when your environment is chaotic and permanently full of clutter and stuff that keeps you anchored to your past. Your environment needs to represent who you’re wanting to become. If your outer environment is messy, then your mind and thinking is most likely messy and disorganized.

Capricorn’s ruled by task-master Saturn. The people who succeed in life know how to do structure and discipline. Learn how to love the discipline and structure of Saturn and you’ll be rewarded for the rest of your life.

The shadow side of structure, discipline and taking on responsibility (Capricorn traits) is taking yourself and life too seriously. Becoming cynical and negative. Seeing your glass as always half empty. Particularly when you’re not feeling in control of your life, your environment or what you’re trying to patiently create in the world. It’s about balancing out the positive and negative aspects of Capricorn and creative Cancer. It’s not falling into Capricorn’s negativity when things aren’t going exactly as planned, or being pushed around inside by Cancer’s moods and subconscious fears around losing a sense of safety or control.

Cancer is about the home, family and ancestral roots. This Full Moon in Capricorn opposing the Sun in Cancer and intensified by Pluto the Transformer may present situations that trigger old, annoying, hurtful family dynamics where you’ve felt disrespected, overlooked and / or manipulated in your past. Power plays may surface where someone in your immediate or extended tribe keeps trying to get you to fit into their plans and way of doing things. Maybe you grew up around adults who were incapable of seeing you as a separate human being with your own wants and needs because they were narcissistically driven – and probably still are.

If that’s the case, then you’ve probably had to work hard at building your own feelings of self-value, self-worth and being seen for who you really are. You’ve also had to work at establishing good boundaries to stop manipulative or dominating personality types from trying disempower you. If these themes resonate, it’s about honouring your feelings and knowing how to look after yourself around dysfunctional people and / or family dynamics. It’s also about accepting that some people won’t change and it’s not your job to try and get them to. Stay focused on building a life that nourishes and supports you and enables you to thrive and achieve whatever it is that you want. Keep clear personal boundaries.

Also pay attention to your dreams. When you consciously work with the unconscious – it accelerates your personal evolution.

Full Moon energy is potent and worth honouring and paying attention to. It’s strong energy, which is why it’s a time to focus on releasing toxic thinking and habit patterns that you’ve now outgrown. Your nervous system is also more on high alert, so do things that ground and nourish you so that you don’t get caught up in knee jerk reactions.

This is the time to view things from a more objective and reflective stance so that you can learn from what’s coming up for you and transform it.
